per annum. As no fresh entries can be made

in the registers it follows that, as the

registered consumers die out, the traffic

will gradually disappear. Opium divans

(or dens) are prohibited in Weihaiwei,b

in Ceylon the very few places which might

be considered as coming under this

designation have been permitted to continuc

since they provide no facility for the

consumption
